Where can I find a archery range finder that consists of whitetail deer sihoettes?
I’ve seen one before but can’t find one online, it has different sized silhoettes with the appropriate distances beside them.
I understand all deer aren’t the same size, I just need to know where to get a product like this.
I have use some that went by size to judge range and they are fine if all deer were the same size, but their not in real life.
How many deer have you shot thanking it was a good size deer and then discovered he was just closer then you thought and much smaller then you expected.
One day out coyote hunting had this one nice male come in and I judged his range at 125 yards and was just about to shoot when I saw the tree he was near.
I looked over the scope again and judged the range to the tree at 200 yards and took the neck shot.
Most coyotes around here are 30 plus pounds, a big coyote is mid 40.
This one was 59 pounds, his size made me thank he was closer then he really was.
In nature size don’t always work out as you expect.
When using a bow, a bad range call will mean the difference between a kill or a wound and some times a all out miss.
I would recommend you get a laser range finder.
There are several on the market that are very affordable, and do a much better job.
I bought one that is very good and use it for all my hunting and varmint shooting.
But I made sure I bought one that was rain proof, for I will not let the rain stop my deer hunt.
I do believe you would be much happier with the laser range finder in the long run.
That my opinion.
