Destinations in Asia – Tibet, a land of enchantment

The destinations of the world's most exotic travel, mysterious Tibet is the place climbers ultimately, hikers, adventure and those interested in Buddhism. Located in the main part of Qinghai Tibet, southwest China border, with a surface square of 463.320 miles, an average elevation of 13,123 feet on the seat, Tibet is known as the roof of the world for good reason. Isolated from the Indian subcontinent by the Great Himalayas, this legendary land is home to many of the highest peaks in the world, with more than 50 peaks of over 22 996 feet above sea level.

Although Tibet's history goes back thousands of years of recorded history stretching back to the seventh century, when King Songtsen Gampo, who united Tibet, sent his Sambhota Minister of India to study Sanskrit. Upon his return, Sambhota invented this script based on Sanskrit Tibet.

The majority of the population Tibet is a native of Tibet, with a number of minorities on the ethical aspects and related ethical fewer Chinese, Mongolian and Kazakh. A agrarian society, farmers account for 90 percent of the population.

Mahayana Buddhism is the dominant religion in Tibet, although still practiced good. The Buddhist faith is deeply rooted and covers all aspects of life in Tibet and its people.

Tibet Main festival: Losar, the New Year Tibetan (February or March) is one of the most important festivals in Tibetan as there is a time for family gatherings and their greetings and best wishes for the new year.

Monlam Festival (fifteenth day of the first month of the lunar year) is the largest religious gathering in Tibet. It was presented by Tsongkhapa, the founder of the sect Yellow in 1490 AD. During the festival, call the three largest monasteries gather in the Jokhang to recite the scriptures and prepare to take examinations for degree next.

Saga Dawa Festival (May / June) is the holiest festival in Tibet. Celebrate the birth of Buddha and enlightenment.

Gyantse Horse Race & archery Fest takes place in May or June horse racing and archery are very popular in Tibet, and Gyantse enjoys prestige of being the cradle of these two activities in Tibet. According to the lunar calendar, the Festival features equestrian events, archery Gyantse few days followed by activities.

Shoton Festival in August. Shoton, the festival Yogurt is the largest festival in Tibet. Historically, religious people went into mountain hermitages for penance. The last day of penance, as a reward, and yogurt is served followed by entertainment. Today, it has become a music festival that usually lasts seven days.
