Just want everybody’s opinion on what they prefer and why. Hunting with a rifle/shotgun or hunting with a bow.
I’ve hunted with almost every weapon under the sun and enjoy it all. But to me, the thrill of getting up close armed only with a stick and string is the ultimate hunting experience. I know people that gun hunted all their life, and when they experienced their first bow kill, they haven’t picked up a rifle since.I never saw a deer make a scrape, hook a bush, stand on it’s hind legs to reach the browse above him, or breed a doe until I started bow hunting.Or watch two does stand on their hind legs and fight with their front hooves slashing at each other.Or watch two bucks fight for dominance.But I’ve seen all these sights, plus more since I started bow hunting.One day I asked an old timer why I never seen these sights while I was gun hunting. He replied, because you shoot the deer with a gun as soon as you see him. And you know, he was right!
