For a particular hunting bow, the spring constant for the bow is 700 N/m. The arrow has a mass of 0.91 kg. How far must the string be drawn back to give the arrow an initial speed of 50 m/s? If the arrow is aimed straight up, how high will it reach?

To lift off the Moon, astronauts used a lunar escape module (LEM) that had an average mass of 2.5 x 103 kg. It had a fuel load that could provide 4.0 GJ of energy. To dock with the command module in orbit, the LEM had to be travelling at 1.6 km/s. Using a value of 1.6 m/s2 for the acceleration due to gravity near the Moon, what is the maximum height the command module could be and still be in range of the LEM?

a) the energy stored in the bow is 700*draw_distance_in_metres joules this must equal or exceed the kinetic energy of a 0.91kg arrow at 50 m/s

b) the LEM is travelling at 1.6km/s when it docks so it has kinetic energy , subtract this KE from 4GJ and it gives the energy available to lift it h metres above the moon’s surface

I can help with this. Hoyt I searched the last 2 years. Side screws, loosen the top screw moves. The thread is modified tensile strength of the arch. You tighten up to increase the draw weight and loosen to decrease recall weight.But branch draw bolts must be displaced by the same amount in both branches. You do it with key allen. After adjusting the tension force do not forget to tighten the side screws in both directions, because that is what prevents screw back branch above members.

anyone ever had or dealt with alaska bow hunting broad heads or arrows?

I recently ordered a custom 27 inch arrow with right fletching and some right bevel 150 grain massai broadheads and was wondering if anyones ever had them or anything? Thanks, appreciate it!

150 grain is very heavy for a 27 inch arrow and right fletching spins left meaning the head will slightly unscrew on impact so use thread lock but i have never used those but i have seen them and they look like a good compact shape… i prefer small heads with wide and short blades not the long swept back ones

also on the arrows, from experience, shooting a longer arrow by 2-3 inches and using a lighter head puts the arrow flying flatter just physics

Hunting bows?

It’s been over a decade since I owned a bow. Thinking of buying one off Ebay. I am right handed, use to hold the bow with left hand and the arrow rested on the right side. Is this called a right or left hand bow I had?

If you hold the bow with your left hand you need a right handed bow. I too am right handed and I pull the string with my right. Thus I shoot a right handed bow.
