I bow kit and I have to understand what kind of arc that is and where to get the plans?
This was given to me bacause the guy who bought it no longer wanted. He put on eBay. The seller called "arc of kit / Traditional archery" I can give measurements. He tried to take pictures. However, due to rain here can not get a regular lighting to make a halfway decent picture. Dimensions: first part is the heart of hard maple, I think: 3 / 4 "x 2" x 72 "The Hickory is the following support: 3 / 16 "x 2" x 72 "The latter is a maple neck: 1" x 2 "x 18" wood is really good, no knots or anything, it would be a pity to waste. If you know what kind of arc that is where I could obtain plans, preferably those that are free, it would be great.
http://www.freewebs.com/traditionalbows/makingyourownbow.htm http://www.murraygaskins.com/bow-bld.html I assume it is a longbow. In England, it is likely that refer to it as a flat arch. The man who wrote the article in the first link Tightbond II suggests that the preferred tail. The second link is to describe an arc of a single piece of wood, but has a good description of the format and tillering process. Do not afraid to know whether he succeeded or not. If you go slow in the development and tillering chance of success. If not, do not feel bad. Even people who make bows with professionals who bring when they begin to use them. I suggest using sanders and scrapers for shape. It is important to avoid cuts and sudden changes in size as they create additional stress and make the bow as low as could be. Remember to go slowly as you lose weight, easy to make out of wood, but almost impossible to deliver up. They seem to fire if the leg is only slightly below the upper extremity. Without knowing your computer can not tell you much more. If you can find a copy of the Bible Bowyers in a library or used would likely help. You want to be looking for volume 2, I think.
