Best box call turkey hunting?
I want to buy a call box to hunt turkeys in Pennsylvania. I do not want to spend much, but terribly any imput on that sound good would be much appreciated
Each hunter must have a Turkey Box Call in your bag of tricks. I recommend a pair. I scream and a bridge Hale Ol '(my favorite) and a box cutter Primo de Rivera (very good). Both produce outstanding cries, cuts, clucks and purrs. I would also like add to your arsenal of a mixture of potash and ankles, with both the slate and glass. And of course a mouth call or two that you use. All I use a diaphragm, a fly is down. You must do everything possible to trick an old Tom, and even then may not be enough. Believe me when I say that almost all of Turkey died this year walked circles around those who primarily used diaphragms. I'm not saying they are not effective but when used constantly Turkeys prudent do. Simply mix it.
